Our friend Regina has become quite the cake decorator! She has been doing a lot of very special cakes for all of our friend’s kids birthday parties, and Lane was lucky enough to get one of his own on Saturday.

Because Lane loves frogs and water so much, she came up with this wonderful design. It was something very special, and really meant a lot to both Shelly and I. Big thanks and love to Regina for helping make Lane’s birthday so memorable.

My old buddy Edgar, and his wife Janine, became parents to a healthy baby boy two weeks ago today! The blog entry that Janine posted, which includes a photo of ‘lil Mateo, documents what seems to have been quite a trying hospital experience.
Glad to hear that both Mother and child are doing well, and look forward to meeting Mateo.

The blogroll is back! For a long time now, I have wanted to figure out a simple way of getting a blogroll onto a seperate page in WordPress. I kept going through the Support Forums for WordPress and K2, and finding a bunch of people asking the same question.
Tonight I remembered how when I first started reading blogs, people were sharing blogrolls’s through OPML files and/or through shared Bloglines accounts. Then, the oh-so-painfully-obvious hit me in the face like a cell phone from Naomi Campbell… Newsgator.
I’m a big Newsgator fan, and I use three of their products to keep up with the (currently) 142 websites that I subscribe to via RSS. Since I already have all the sites listed on Newsgator, why can’t I just share that list? A quick search in the Newsgator Support Forum found me an answer (in a post from more than 18 months ago no less).
If you use Newsgator, all you have to do is create a new location and choose to share it as a Blogroll. It then gives you some html code to put wherever you want it displayed. Awesome.
The blogroll is paired down to just family and friends, because I didn’t think that anyone cared to look at a list of 142 websites. Take a look at it and tell me what you think. Also, if you see your website on there and I’m pointing to the wrong place, please let me know.
Update: Oops! The links were all set to point to the RSS feeds for the sites, but this has been fixed. It’s now an actual blogroll as opposed to a list of feeds.
