This was taken about 15 minutes after Lane got this hockey set for a “late” Christmas gift (thanks to UPS).
When he is retrieving the ball from the net, you might be able to hear him say “team” under his breath. This comes from him saying “Yay! Me make team!” every time he scores a goal…
He’s all about hockey right now, and I couldn’t be happier. Tonight he got to stay up late and watch the entire first period of the Sharks game with me, which is worse than it sounds because I started watching the game around 9:00 PM. By the time he got in bed, he was saying Cheechoo — and belly laughing everytime.
Lane won’t be getting one of his presents in time to open them tomorrow morning, thanks to UPS.
A package that was ordered through Target (by way of Amazon), was supposed to be delivered to my work on Friday. Something happened, and the package got delayed by one day. I phoned them on Friday to ask about this, and also mentioned that my work was closed today, so I would have to go into work to meet the driver.
Turns out that me saying the word “closed” was reason enough for their systems to automagically route my package to a “closed” trailer at the UPS office in San Ramon. They have three trailers full of shipments that we destined for businesses that are closed today, and they are stored there until Wednesday.
The supervisor in San Ramon that I finally got to speak with this morning, was very apologetic, and said that he would make every attempt to find the package so I would be able to pick it up tonight at their offices, but that it would be like finding a needle in a haystack.
All of our Christmas photos are up on Flickr now, and there are lots of stories that I hope to get around to telling everyone. Like always, we had a very busy few days and saw lots of friends and family.
Today was a little more exciting because Michelle ended up in the Emergency Room with food poisoning, again. We have no idea what she ate, but it was pretty bad. She is feeling much better now, but this will be a most memorable Christmas…
Lane was spoiled rotten by everyone, but I think that perhaps his favorite gift was the see-saw that my Dad built for him. Complete with horse heads, handles and a seat just for Lane that allows us to keep him strapped in and secure. It’s pretty damn cool.
Later today we are off to the surprise trip that I planned for Shelly. Those of you who aren’t in the know, keep an eye on Flickr for little glimpses of what we are doing… it should be a lot of fun.
We got our Christmas tree tonight from a lot just down the hill at Bayfair Mall. I’m not a big fan of the holiday, but Lane sure is doing his best to change that…
